frequently asked questions - Astronomy/Camping
Can we bring our dog?
Yes, but only well behaved dogs that do not bark too much. If your dog barks to much it could ruin the experience of those around you.
I purchased tickets, why have I not received them yet?
If you have chosen to purchase tickets instead of paying upon arrival, you will receive a confirmation email right after your purchase that shows your name and order number. This acts as your tickets. You can print this or display it on your phone when you arrive. If you do not see the email confirmation after purchase, check your spam. If you still cannot find it, email me and let me know. I can look up your purchase confirmation and email it to you. Mark@Meteorcruise.com
What happens if you cancel due to cloud cover?
If we cancel the program due to the weather, we will post this on the web page and also send out an email to everyone. Some times the forecast is correct and other times it changes quickly within 24 hours of the program. There are times when we wake up on the morning before the program and the forecast has completely changed. We will cancel the program no later than 9 am on the morning of the date of any program. About 90 percent of the time the weather forecasts are accurate 3 days out, so we typically do not have to cancel within 24 hours of the program. If we do cancel, tickets can be used on any subsequent date. It is a good idea to have reservations on at least 2 different dates. Tickets never expire. Many people plan weekend getaways and or special events like anniversaries around the program. This is great, but we ask that people have alternative plans in case we have to cancel.
Can we have a campfire?
Yes, but we do not have fire pits or wood, so you will have to bring your own firepit or fire ring. We ask that you start your fire after the astronomy program to keep the area dark as possible for stargazing.
Will there be bathrooms?
Yes we will have portable toilets.
What time can we arrive?
You are welcome to arrive anytime after 3 pm and no later than 5 pm. For those camping overnight, departure is by 11 am the next day.
Do you have water?
No. You will need to bring your requirements for water.
Is there electric?
No.
Can we bring a telescope?
Yes, but they are not required for the program. If you do bring a telescope or binoculars I will be pointing out some objects of interest.
Can we cook on a grill?
Yes you are welcome to bring a grill to cook food.
Can we bring our RV?
Yes, but please contact us to inquire about a particular date. We have limited space for RV's on each night. Pop ups you can bring without inquiry.
